My WIP Novel

Chapter 1

Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?

He emerged from central station and positioned himself against a wall. A youngish white man in jeans & a long sleeved T-Shirt. He removed his guitar from the case, and threw in some change to plant the seed, swivelled to face the pedestrians and began to play. His music, and voice so sweet. Mia would walk past each day and toy with herself, stop and make small talk, or just hurry past, and throw in a buck.

This one day she stopped, a little sheepishly, she introduced herself! "Hi, I noticed your here quite often, and have admired your music from afar, just felt the need to tell you. I hope I haven't distracted you?" "No, not at all, in fact I had been dying to get your attention, and didn't know h.., anyway this is perfect. My name is Taylor, yours?" "Mia." "Hello Mia." "Hello." They talked a little awkwardly for a moment, but that soon passed. Mia found Taylor was easy to talk to, and she immediately felt at ease in his company, like she had met him before.

Taylor was a kind man, with a trusting face, though weather beaten, showed he'd spent much of his time outdoors.

Taylor had many stories, and his clarity was clear and pure, almost like a child unclouded by 'experience' and 'cynicism'. With all his travel stories, and the loneliness he dealt with everyday, one thing that stood out was his genuine appreciation for life. Even though his music had not taken him where he'd wanted, and many failed relationships, as he battled with his demons, he had this aura about him like a magnet, that was drawing her in. Never before had anyone evoked such a delightful tremor of thrilling sensation in her.

"Oh where did the time go, I must get to work" said Mia. She communicated an unspoken good-bye with her eyes. She felt sure they would meet again. Mia glanced back to see Taylor was watching her, as she raised a hand to wave, a penny for his thoughts. Taylor was mesmerised as he watched Mia walk away, an exquisite beauty – tall, fair and freshly bathed, her luxuriant black hair flowed down her back, her sharp features accentuated by the morning sun, with a slight turned up nose.

They talked everyday, even though it was a little out of Mia's way, she didn't care as she was somehow curious. They shared long lingering looks, which was worth a hundred compliments. After a few weeks Mia extended an invitation for dinner.

An Italian restaurant famous for its pastas and paellas, was buzzing most days of the week. The interior decoration of this place was really what created its unique atmosphere with serrano ham legs on the walls, and antique objects hanging from the ceiling. The dishes and wine cheap, and simple, but authentic. There are no pretensions to grandeur, this was a good honest Italian restaurant. "The owners are like my second family" said Mia as she made small talk. "If you're lucky you'll get to hear some live tango music played by the in-house pianist." The wine kept flowing as they talked oblivious to what was happening around them.

This is a place Taylor and Mia would frequent, a place where they could escape reality. They would sit by the stone fireplace, unwind and burn off the daily stresses. A safe haven of luxury, and relaxation, the freedom to talk without any pressures of dating, and expectations.

This one particular night Taylor leaned in to kiss Mia with his lips slightly parted, met with Mia's lips. Like a bolt of lightening, their lips caressed. Taylor without thinking picked Mia up in his arms, and carried her out of the restaurant. Suddenly they found themselves down a windy path leading to the beach. He pulled her close to him, and she felt a quiver of anticipation, the tingling spread throughout her, and made her shiver in delight. Just at that moment he said "Your curvy body drives me crazy. Your slender neck descending down to your curvaceous waist and leading up to your toned thighs are just perfect."

His hands caressed her breasts, as they stole a perfect moment with lingering looks. Their silent love making, so lovely & delicately poised. Just one word would spoil everything, destroy the enthralling state of trancelike bliss & bring everything crashing down from supreme ecstasy to harsh ground reality. Taylor penetrated Mia, at that moment the feeling of 'oneness' washed over them. After what seemed like hours of passion, was minutes as they fell back in the softness of the dry sand, and lay in silence. The soft wind caressed their bodies in the heat of the night. They just lay there looking up at all the things that came in beautiful forms, and colours. Mia knew she would never forget this 'supreme bliss' moment.
